Flatpicking

This is the dominent style of guitar playing in bluegrass. It is played with a regular guitar pick or plectrum (as opposed to fingerpicks or thumbpicks) and it adapts many of the traditional fiddle techniques on the guitar. Early pioneers of this style include Doc Watson and Clarence White.
