Gun Culture

This term arose during the late 90s, usually used in contrasting America to Europe. The claim is that America is a more violent place than Europe due to the presence of far more firearms, and the higher regard Americans have for them than do Europeans.

The shortened form of the above definitions is usually just stated as "Gun Culture".
